If you’re looking to up your mobile game – mobile email, mobile social networking, etc – but don’t want to stomach the price of a smartphone, have a look at the Peek Pronto.

The device itself is inexpensive at $59, and the monthly service is cheap, too – $19.99/month. However, for today December 2, 2009 only, Peek has lowered that price to $9.99/mon for life. That’s right – buy a Peek today and your monthly fee will be $9.99/month for life. This price will save you literally thousands of dollars over a two-year period against the cost of a smartphone and its service plan (an iPhone with 2-year contract totals north of $2600). And on that note, another important feature of the Peek – there’s no long-term contract. You simply pay by the month until you decide you on longer want to.

The Peek is a very simple-to-use, simple-to-own mobile email device. It also does texting and Peek has recently added new application services to the device – essentially email interfaces to popular browser applications like Twitter and Facebook, as well as weather, stock, and other sorts of data available as RSS feeds. Via ping.fm you can use the Peek to set your status on your social networking sites, as well. More app details here.

This is a great little device, with great battery life, and at this price it’s practically a steal. Highly recommended.
